A couple who lost everything in the recession have avoided bankruptcy by trying their hand at ‘partirement’ – returning to work on a part time basis – with Kleeneze.
Geoffrey White (75) and his wife Cathy (59) formerly ran their own catering business, and retired five years ago. They had invested heavily in property both in the UK and overseas, and when the credit crunch hit in 2008, they made huge losses – the couple soon found themselves a week away from declaring bankruptcy.
Geoffrey said: “We literally lost everything and we needed to get back on track financially as soon as we could; as we’re both past retirement age, though, our options were extremely limited.”
While researching ways that they could make money, Cathy found out about Kleeneze. The couple decided to start their own business with Kleeneze, and are now making up to £2,500 a month running their Kleeneze business on a part-time basis; supporting their team of Kleeneze distributors and their own local customers.
Cathy said: “We received our first pay cheque within four weeks, which helped immensely. We’ve since built our business and now have a team of distributors working with us.”
Geoffrey continued: “While we never expected to have to return to work, Kleeneze offered the ideal solution because we can build our own hours, so we’re still able to enjoy our retirement.”
Geoffrey and Cathy aren’t the only couple having to contend with financial instability in their old age; many people of retirement age are now finding that their pensions aren’t enough to live off. And with the latest figures from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP), showing that 1.4m people aged between 51 and 65 – and 900,000 people already over the age of 65 – are now expected to live to 100, many are worried that their savings won’t be enough to see them through their final years.
Jamie Stewart, managing director of Kleeneze, said: “’Partirement’ is becoming increasingly common. A significant number of our distributors are of retirement age and we’ve seen an increasing number of applications from those looking to top up their pensions or save for their future.
“As well as allowing you to make money quickly, working with Kleeneze offers a great social community combined with regular outdoor activity.”

Did You Get A Pay Rise? - This Couple Did!
Dean and Flora Copson![]() Our Kleeneze journey started in August 2007 after our car was carded in a Tesco Car Park and we completed our details on the website. We had thought about doing something in the evenings to get us from in front of the TV. Although we both have good jobs we still had a certain amount of debts and if we wanted to go on holiday we really had to pull in our belts. In our first period we had retailed ourselves to 13 % and a cheque for £429. We have steadily built up our team whilst working over 100 hours a week between us in very demanding roles and bringing up our daughter Anna who has very much been a part of the Kleeneze team. Anna has delivered catalogues, processed and delivered orders and attended training sessions and is very willing to tell people how great this business is. The income we have got from Kleeneze has also enabled us to take Anna to Disneyland in Orlando in 2010 for her 10th birthday. This was a fantastic trip and has really inspired us to get to New York. We have now qualified as Gold Distributors and are now in qualification for New York. Our focus now is to support our great team in achieving their goals in 2011. ![]() |

Customer Service Is Key To A Fantastic Customer Base
From your very first week delivering and collecting catalogues as a Kleeneze distributor you will start to accumulate customers. This will be the start of your customer base, and is key to your future income, so it is vitally important that your customers stay loyal to you, and do not order from another distributor in the area.
The key to keeping your customers loyal is to give them great customer service; here are some tips to help you:
Presentation: It is important to keep your catalogues looking fresh, don't deliver tatty looking one's to your customer base. The same with snappy bags, this is your shop window so make sure it is looking clean and shiny, and change them if they are looking grubby. You will also want to look "presentable" when you are out and about working your business, so wear smart casual, or the kleeneze branded clothing to create the right image.
Organisation: Be organised, keep good records of who your customers are and give them a regular 4 or 5 week service. Always collect your books on the day you have stated on your day slip, and use a Thank You slip when you pick up an order as it lets your customer know that you have picked up their order, and lets them know when you are delivering it. Make sure your contact number is on all your slips so that customers can easily contact you if they need to.
Delivering Products: Use Kleeneze carriers to deliver customer orders in, we include a little snappy bag with two wrapped sweets and a thank you for your order note with each order. We have been doing this for over 3 years and some of our customers look for the sweets before they look at the products. Always be courteous, smile, chat to your customers, get to know them, for some you will be the only friendly face they will see that day, so let them tell you about their aches and pains! Always close the garden gate on your way out and don't take a short cut across the grass, it might just annoy them.
We hope that you find these tips useful. If you have any tips of your own please feel free to leave a comment.

This Young Guy Earns £2500 Per Month
Daniel Davies
I find that the main thing that puts people off joining Kleeneze is the start up investment, but like with any business before you can trade, you need to buy tools. I had a previous business as a car valeter and took out a loan to buy everything I needed, which altogether came to £4500! I put everything into making it work but found that I was losing more and more money every day. There wasn't enough money to pay my loan repayments and I ended up in a lot of debt and knew I'd have to get a job. The only problem was I didn't want to work for anyone else after being self employed.
Then one day I spotted an advert in the paper to earn an extra income, replied to it and got an info pack on Kleeneze. I'd never heard of Kleeneze before but liked what I saw and got started with 200 catalogues for less than £150!! At the end of my first month I earned £279.
In the early days I didn't see the big picture and just saw it as a way of making a little extra money to help pay off my debts, but after going along to a few meetings and mixing with other Kleeneze people, I started to see that there was more to it.
Eventually I gave up the valeting business and concentrated on Kleeneze full time, and since then the money has gone up and up. In July this year, with the help and support
of a fantastic team - upline, downline and crossline, I reached the level of Gold Distributor. Just for holding that level for 3 months, Kleeneze have rewarded me with a 5 star, all expenses paid trip of a lifetime to Hong Kong! Not only have that but my last 3 cheques come to over £8500! Not bad considering I'm only 24 years old! :)
Below is my cheque for September of this year. It just goes to show that with some effort and determination, Kleeneze can definitely change your life!

If Someone Asks Can You Make Any Money In This Business?
The answer is "How much do you want"
First off you need to create your retail story, we recommend that you aim to retail £250 per week which will give you a profit of £52.50 and a total four week period income of £275.
Then you can share your story with your family, friends, neighbours, work mates, tell them what you are doing and how you have earned a cracking second income simply by putting out some catalogues. You can also mention to your customers about how well you are doing, how much money you are making, and ask them if they know anyone who might be interested. If you feel confident doing so you can also bring it up in conversation with anyone you come into contact with on a daily basis.
We have lots of other methods of spreading the word that we call fishpond activities, such as business cards, flyers, shop ads, hot pockets, posters, newspaper ads, internet advertising etc which we will aim to cover in future blog posts.
When someone joins your business you need to show them how to make money, show them how to retail to a level that will create the initial weekly income they desire and which will create their own retail story. Most people join Kleeneze for £50 a week extra, and we know that is very easy to achieve by following the system. Then you explain to them the benefits of sharing their story and building a team. All you are doing is simply duplicating what your sponsor has shown you. If you do this consistently and persistently, get your team to duplicate you, attend opportunity meetings, sizzles, company events etc you will create a growth explosion in your business, and given time a residual income.
I heard a story at a meeting some time ago about a guy from Ireland who joined the business in 2003 and earned £525 in his first four weeks. At the end of his first year his cheque had grown to £1700 and four years later he was earning £5000. He took four weeks off to get married, and still earned £4100 in that four week period. That is the power of a residual income.

Be Prepared To Fail
Anyone who has ever succeeded at anything will have failed possibly many many times before they became successful. Just think about James Dyson who invented bagless technology for vacuum cleaners, he made something like 5000 prototypes before he perfected the idea and was rejected by Hoover. The actor Bruce Willis, a bar tender in New York in 1978, failed auditions for 8 years before he got a part in Moonlighting in 1986. J K Rowling submitted the manuscript for her first Harry Potter novel to 12 publishing houses who all rejected it. The 13th accepted it and gave her an advance of £1500 and printed an initial run of just 1000 copies. These stories are typical of successful people all over the world in many different fields.........Kleeneze distributors are no different.
When we retail (deliver & collect catalogues) we fail massively because we do not pick up orders from the majority of the houses, (the national average is about 1 in 10)
When we talk to prospects and show them the business we fail massively ...... an experienced distributor on average will fail 9 times out of 10, we usually need to speak to ten people to sponsor one.
So don't be afraid to fail, its just a natural part of the process, the more you fail the more successful you will become. At the end of the day its just a numbers game, if you show the catalogues to enough people some will order from you, if you show the business to enough people some will want to join you.
Here is just one example of a Kleeneze distributor who has failed:
John Hawkes Kleeneze Story

We joined Kleeneze in early 1993 at the age of 58. Our need at the time was an extra £1000 per month.
Jeanette was not impressed with the idea of what seems on the surface to be a non-glamorous occupation. John however was clear in his mind that providing people purchased product from the catalogues, then the system MUST work.
We proved that the product sold in quantity within the first week. This was enough to set our minds racing. Retirement was approaching fast and we had not sufficient savings or pension plans to enjoy our later years.
With this in mind we decided to plan long term as we could see the big picture. It was exciting.
Our plan was to build one new Gold group every year until we reached SED level which we knew would pay us around £5,000 per month. In the event, in the seven years to our “official” retirement age we had helped 7 people to the gold level, and our annual income was over £100,000.
How did we do this? We decided to give every waking moment to activity and to learn the business inside out so that we were in a position to coach others.
All our early activity was funded by retailing the product. Results of putting out catalogues are entirely predictable, so plans can be made to fund whatever activity is required.
So what do we do now? We now reap the benefits of royalty income which is what network marketing is designed to do. However, far from vegetating by doing nothing, we maintain a healthy support system for our distributors, train, coach and encourage those seeking to improve their position.
We do this by working when we choose and with whom we choose. We are responsible to no-one but ourselves, but at the same time we promote the Kleeneze company as being the only network marketing organisation in the world (so far as we know) where a new starter can earn from day one and be in an overall profit situation within the first month.
The investment of our time in the early days is the best thing we have ever done and with consistent results. Our average gross income for the last 7 years is £159,000 per annum.
You need some of this!
Total income over the last 7 years is £1,113,000 nowhere else except Kleeneze can you get a pension like that.

The Difference One Month Can Make
We joined Kleeneze on 27th October 2010 looking to earn an extra few hundred pounds each month while our cleaning business that we had recently started was beginning to grow.
When an internet advert that we responded to asking if we would like to earn more money each month turned out to be Kleeneze we were both very sceptical about whether it would actually work as the business model seemed too simple and too good to be true. A follow up call and excellent meeting with Tracy Sheehan and Glenn Tyler showed us that it could work so we thought we would give it a go to try and make our joining fee back.
We made the joining fee back in two weeks and Kleeneze started to give us some much needed cash flow! When the first cheque came through for £216.92 we were ecstatic, saw that the business really did work and decided that we would make a plan that would push the boundaries and see how far we could go with our cheque in one month.
We put as money catalogues out as we possibly could in 25 days, which was very challenging considering there was two feet of snow outside our front door!
The results of our 25 day plan were astounding as we received a pay rise of £1,260.08 meaning that our cheque was nearly seven times bigger! You could not achieve this kind of result in a job!
Kleeneze really does work and no one could convince us that it doesn’ t. This business really is the way forward as it rewards you fairly for the effort that you put in, unlike the majority of jobs.
We now know it’ s only a matter of time until we have a gold business. See you in New York!

£900 In The First Four Weeks - This Is How It Was Done!
Michaela and Mike Williams

I joined Kleeneze 6 weeks ago, and have just finished my first full period. My first month as a Kleeneze distributor has been fantastic!
I started my Kleeneze business because being a mum of 2, and having one child at school and one a pre-school I wanted to find a way of earning an income around my children.
The more I looked into trying to find employment, the more I realised that I was virtually unemployable.
I wanted a job that I could work at from 9.30am to 2.30pm maximum, 3-5 days a week, probably increasing when my other daughter started school in September. I wanted to have weekends off to spend as family time, and school holidays as I haven’t got cover for those either.
I also couldn’t work evenings, other than from home as my husband works away a lot. Even having a business degree didn’t really help as I was over qualified for some part time positions. The only jobs I could see that might fit with the hours that I needed were in schools, but of course these vacancies were few and far between.
The Kleeneze opportunity fitted all of the criteria that I had for a job like a glove.
So in my first 4 weeks I hit my first fast start bonus and received 50 free catalogues, and have also qualified for my second fast start bonus to receive another 50. I have retailed by myself £2062 in my first 4 weeks and have generated over 100 customers, in addition to the 19 orders I received from family and friends.
I have also spoken to a large number of my family and friends about the Kleeneze opportunity and in my first 2 weeks sponsored 3 distributors into my team. We enjoyed our first team training sizzle at my home and am already enjoying the social side of kleeneze.
Two of my team have already qualified for their first fast start bonuses too, so are off to a fantastic start.
I hit the 18% volume profit margin in my first full period, and my first cheque was over £900!
In terms of being successful in Kleeneze I can see already that attending the events and training sessions available to learn as much as possible and to keep motivation high is crucial.
Also keeping in regular touch with your upline is a must, just to talk about progress, how things work, and again to keep the motivation going. I have also started to read some of the suggested material and listen to CD’s in the car when driving – sooo motivational.
Also I have started my team building in earnest, and have spent some time flyering a local area. From 400 flyers, I generated 4 enquiries and with the help of my upline, I have 3 meetings booked. I have also started my own website, and have started other types of lead generation, and have already had a number of enquiries that I am now following up on my own.
I am looking forward to working to progress my Kleeneze Business, and am aiming high and am hoping to attend the New York Conference in November – Fingers Crossed! There is lots of hard work to do before then so we shall see!
Finally just a quick note to thank my upline John Webb & Kath Price for all of the help that they have given me over the last few weeks, and to thank them in advance and apologise for all of the help I am going to be asking for over the coming months in order to get to Gold and progress up through the Sales Plan!

Can You Make Money With Kleeneze ?
Will I make any money if I join Kleeneze is a question we get asked quite often. The short answer is yes, but you will have to apply yourself and follow a simple system that we will teach you.
The company has been trading in profit for 87 years with a huge turnover so there are a lot of people buying the products. There is loads of evidence including testimonials showing how people all over the UK, Ireland, Holland & Germany are earning money with the Kleeneze opportunity. Some are generating second incomes of £50 - £200+ per week working spare time hours, whilst others work the business full time and are earning £2000 - £5000+ per month. These incomes can be backed up as unlike some network marketing companies Kleeneze publish turnover and incomes.
When we are speaking to potential new distributors who are sceptical about whether they will earn any money, we tell them our story and show them our first income cheque. We also show them how incomes are related to the effort you put in by highlighting that on average if you work with 200 catalogues going out each week you can earn in excess of £50 per week. See the Income From Retailing chart for details.
Your income going forward will be related directly to the effort and commitment you put in, whether just as a Retailer or as a Team Builder.
If you are to succeed long term and make the big incomes you will need to "teachable" and also be able to apply some simple idea's to your business. For example you will need a "desire" to succeed; as a self employed distributor you will need to be self motivated, with clear goals that you are working towards. You will also need to be focused; to build a business that generates a residual income will typically take 3 - 5 years. And you will have to learn about the business and network marketing which you can do from talking to other successful distributors at meetings and seminars, and also from reading books, and listening to audio's such as this one from one of the top earners in the business Rob Forster.

Kleeneze - Effective Retailing Pt 3
The third and final section of our guide to retailing effectively covers Customer service – a very very important part of retailing effectively – we have all been into shops and walked out because of poor service, long queues in supermarkets etc so give your customers the very best service you can, you need to stand head and shoulders above your competition.
You need to give your customers the best possible service so that they remain your customers, and don’t start ordering from another distributor. You have worked hard to get them so you need to work hard to keep them.
Here’s how we do it.
Use the day slip – They were designed for a reason, to give information to your customers, don’t forget to put your phone number at the bottom.
Collect on the right day, if the day slip says collect Monday, then collect Monday. When the customer goes out to work on a Tuesday morning and your catalogue is still on the step they will think “waste of time”
So create a good impression and collect on the right day.
Similarly use the Thank you slip when you pick up an order, it does two things, one it lets your customer know that you have collected their order, and two it tells them when you will be delivering it.
Make sure you deliver on the day stated on the slip. Its all about good customer service.
Again make sure your phone number is on the slip, so the customer can get hold of you if they need to. We get at least one call every week asking if we can deliver the next day as they are going out. We also get customers phoning us with orders, so make sure your phone number is known by all your customers. Put it on all the slips.
Deliver the order in a Kleeneze bag, if an item is out of stock let the customer know that you will reorder it and deliver it the next week, in our case on a Saturday, as that’s when we always deliver our orders.
We put a little bag containing two sweets in with all our deliveries, it also includes a note that simply says thank you for your order, followed by our name and phone number.
Make sure you have got plenty of change, wear your Kleeneze badge, be courteous, have a smile on your face, chat to your customers, get to know them, for some you will be the only friendly face they will see that day, so let them tell you about all their aches and pains, say thank you, so important, thank you for your order Mrs Jones, don’t cut across the grass, shut the gate on your way out. Your customers are your life blood so look after them and they will reward you with their loyalty.

Kleeneze - Effective Retailing Pt 2
Further to my blog post yesterday, here is the second part of our guide to effective retailing:
Organisation – If you are not organised there is no way you will retail effectively, so you need to get organised,
Organisation – If you are not organised there is no way you will retail effectively, so you need to get organised,
Catalogues – You need to work with the right number of catalogues - 250 that’s so important. You will lose some everyone does, so remembering what was said before about replacing tatty ones you need to plan ahead and always have a top up box in hand, otherwise you will put out 230 the next week, then you lose a few more and before you know it you have only got 200 catalogues to put out. You will only retail effectively if you consistently put out 250 catalogues week after week. And by working with 250 catalogues you should reach the Fast Start Bonus in your first full period and qualify for a free box of catalogues.
Work a consistent 4 or 5 week cycle, your customers will get used to seeing your catalogues every few weeks, and you will reap the benefits with regular orders.
You need to keep records of who your customers are, how else will you remember where to go back to in 4/5 weeks time.
We use round books, they are an invaluable tool for recording all the information about your customers.
It would be interesting to hear from other Kleeneze distributors with their own effective retailing tips.... please feel free to comment.

Kleeneze - Effective Retailing Pt 1
Effective Retailing is not just about putting out catalogues, collecting them in, and delivering orders, anyone can do that. The last bloke that put a catalogue through our door about 5 years ago did just that, and he doesn't do Kleeneze any more. We placed an order with this guy and when he turned up to deliver it he was pushing a rusty old buggy that looked like it belonged on the rubbish tip, I think that’s where he had got his clothes from as well, god he was scruffy.
Effective Retailing is about putting out catalogues, collecting them in, and delivering orders… Effectively… To illustrate this I am going to cover three topics the first of which is Presentation.
Its so important to create a professional image for your Kleeneze business so that you are the best distributor in your area. Lets give you some idea’s how to do this.
The catalogue is your shop window you want it to look the best it can to attract your customers to buy. Take a walk down your local high street, which shops are full of customers…. the ones with an attractive shop window, if you were a butcher and had rotten looking meat in the window would you expect customers to come in NO - So don’t put tatty looking catalogues out to your customers. Make sure they are clean and fresh looking, and remember to stick your label on the back of the main book.
Snappy Bags - Make sure your snappy bags look good, when you turn round your catalogues, check the snappy bags, if they have got holes in, or someones cut the top off because they can’t work out how to open them, or they just look dirty change them for a new one.
You need to create a good impression - You need to look the part, after all you are running your own business, so dress smartly when you are out and about doing your Kleeneze business. If you turn up at the door like the guy with the buggy you will create a lasting impression in the mind of your customers, unfortunately it will be the wrong impression.
We always wear our ID badge so that it is visible, we feel it creates a more official look. And it also helps the little old ladies who don’t like opening the door to strangers to see who is at their door.
You can buy the badge holders from Staples for a few quid for a box of 10 or so. Also useful to give out to your downline.

5 Suggestions to Getting Much More Prospective Customers For the Business
Once you get started in any type of home based business your only focus should be on getting prospects to talk to about it. That's really it. It's not about knowing the comp plan inside out, organizing your desk, or memorizing your companies leadership structure. It's all about getting more prospects. Without having prospects you'll never make any money, plain and simple. So, how do you go about getting more prospects to talk to? Here are 5 tips to help you in doing just that.
1. Be Enthusiastic - This tip ranks up near the very top. No matter if you are brand new in your business and don't know every detail about your product or opportunity, if you have enthusiasm, you'll have success. People love to be around others who are on fire and enjoy what they are doing. Think about it for a minute. Most people live a life of drudgery, going to a job they hate, and barely making enough to get by. They are looking for a better way. When they meet up with someone who is passionate, and shows them how to change their current situation, they will take notice and listen. People love to be led, and they will follow passionate and enthusiastic leaders. Bottom line; Enthusiasm is contagious!
2. Talk To Everyone - Are you one of the many home based business top secret agents? If you are, STOP. You can never build any kind of home business by not telling others what you do. Tell everyone what you do. No matter where you go, or who you see, let them know about your product and how it can help them. If they are talking about money, let them know you have a way for them to make more. Realize that just about everyone you meet is looking to have more money than they currently have. If you don't tell them about your business, someone else will.
3. Be Honest And Professional - Never exaggerate, or make up income claims. Be honest and professional at all times. I know it can be difficult when you first start and someone asks you how much you're making. It's easy to want to make up a big dollar figure. Don't do it. People can tell if you are being honest or not. Think about your kids for a moment. You know when they are telling you the truth or not. You can sense it. The same thing works in your home based business. If you are honest and professional, people will respect you. But, if you're not, you'll lose your all your credibility. When you've lost that, then you've lost your prospect.
4. Keep It Simple - How do you explain to others what kind of home business you're involved in? Do you take 15 minutes to tell them every detail of the comp plan, the chemical makeup of the product, or the structure of the home office? I hope not, because if you do you will lose your prospect 99% of the time. People want to know the answers to two questions. What is the product? And, what would I have to do? All the other details are meaningless right now. Use only 2-3 sentences to let someone know what you do and how you do it.
For instance, if you are in health and wellness you could say, "I show people how to look 15 years younger. If you want to make an extra $500 a week all you have to do is hand out these samples and get 2 others to do the same." Of course you will change it up to fit your business opportunity, but you get the basic idea. You have answered their questions. What is the product, and what would I have to do. If they want to know more, then you can go into more details. If they don't, then you didn't waste a lot of time. You spent all of 10 seconds qualifying them.
5. Set Goals - Most people never plan to fail, they simply fail to plan. This is so true. Goals are the road map to your success. Without them you'll never know where you're going, or how to get there. Don't underestimate the power of setting goals. Take a moment right now to write out your plans and goals. Challenge yourself to talk to 5 more people today than you did yesterday.
These 5 tips will definitely help you in getting more prospects for your home business. Keep learning all you can about your business, but above all else, have fun and enjoy what you're doing. By doing so, success is inevitable!
